Short Bio
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Lincoln. I hold a Laurea in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padova and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex. Before moving to Lincoln, I was a postdoc at the University of Oxford. I also worked for several years in the industry developing and programming embedded systems.
My research interests are mostly in machine perception of humans for robotics and intelligent systems, from low-level detection and tracking, to high-level behaviour understanding and reasoning. These include methods for multisensor data fusion, active vision and qualitative spatial representation. See my projects page for more details.
Postdoc/PhD Opportunities
I am looking for a Postdoc and a PhD student to join our new EU project DARKO, working on causal inference and qualitative reasoning for human-robot spatial interaction.
