Short Bio
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padua, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Lincoln. I hold a Laurea in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padua and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex. Before joining Padua, I was an Associate Professor in Lincoln and, previously, a postdoc at the University of Oxford. I also worked for several years in the industry developing and programming embedded systems.
My research interests are mostly in machine perception of humans for robotics and intelligent systems, from low-level detection and tracking, to high-level behaviour understanding and reasoning. These include methods for causal inference, multisensor data fusion, active vision, and qualitative spatial representation. See my projects page for more details.
